Artist Statement
Charlotte Joachim
I conceive of my work as a celebration of light, color and shapes.
The subjects of my paintings are drawn from images and events
of everyday life, which I endeavour to communicate about
through a purely visual medium.
As an artist, I respect the unpredictability of the flow
of paint on canvas, which often results in happy accidents.
At times, the process of allowing paint to flow takes me
on an adventure that directs the evolution of the painting itself
towards an unknown path.
